When filtering a liquid in the Feed and Bleed mode, the liquid to be filtered is fed through the module by means of a circulation pump. Part of the liquid is circulated back through the tank from a side stream. This mode is widely used in the beverage industry for filtering batch processes. The following diagram shows a P&ID of a typical feed and bleed system.
